Common questions
Does it cost anything to work with you?
No. Reviews are at no cost to you. If you enroll in a plan through me, the insurance company pays me. You do not pay me a fee.
Are you affiliated with Medicare or the government?
No. I am a licensed insurance agent. I am not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. Medicare will not call you to sell you a plan.
Do you offer every Medicare plan?
No. I do not offer every plan available in your area. I can discuss the plans I am appointed to offer. For information on all of your options, contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or HICAP at 1-800-434-0222.
How is an agent different from calling 1-800-MEDICARE?
1-800-MEDICARE gives general information about Medicare and every plan in your area. A licensed agent can compare the plans they are appointed to offer against your doctors and prescriptions, help with the application, and stay with you after you enroll.
When can I sign up for Medicare?
Your Initial Enrollment Period is 7 months long. It starts 3 months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and ends 3 months after it.
When can I change my Medicare plan?
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 to December 7, with changes starting January 1. If you are in a Medicare Advantage plan, you also get one change between January 1 and March 31. Some life events create Special Enrollment Periods.
What is the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medigap?
Medicare Advantage is a private plan that provides your Part A and Part B benefits, usually through a network, with a yearly out-of-pocket limit. Medigap is a policy that works alongside Original Medicare to help pay what Medicare does not, and lets you see any provider that accepts Medicare. You cannot have both at once.
Can I switch from Medicare Advantage to Medigap later?
Sometimes, but outside protected situations a Medigap company can ask health questions and decline you or charge more. If you join Medicare Advantage when first eligible, you generally have a 12-month trial right to go back.
What is the California birthday rule?
If you have a Medigap policy in California, you get a 60-day window each year starting on your birthday to switch to another Medigap policy with the same or fewer benefits without medical underwriting.
What is the Part D out-of-pocket cap for 2027?
$2,400, up from $2,100 in 2026. After you reach it, you pay nothing more for covered Part D drugs that year.
I am still working at 65. Do I need Part B?
It depends on your employer coverage and the size of your employer. Many people with active employer coverage can delay Part B without a penalty. Ask your benefits administrator in writing before you decide.
Will you call me if I fill out your form?
Yes, that is what the form is for. I will only contact you about what you asked for, and you can tell me to stop at any time.
Can we meet in person?
Yes. I meet at my office at 27240 Turnberry Lane, Suite 200, in Valencia, or by phone.
What should I bring to a review?
Your Medicare card, your current plan card, a list of your prescriptions with doses, your doctors and medical group, your pharmacy, and your Annual Notice of Change if you have one.
Do you help with life insurance?
Yes. I help with term life, whole life, and final expense coverage. If you would rather start on your own, I also offer an instant online term quote through Ethos.
What is final expense insurance?
A smaller whole life policy designed to cover funeral costs and final bills so your family is not left paying them.
How do I know you are legitimate?
Look me up. My California insurance license number is 4410609, and you can verify it at insurance.ca.gov. My office is a real place you can visit in Valencia.
Where can I get free, unbiased Medicare help?
HICAP, California's Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, offers free Medicare counseling at 1-800-434-0222. Its counselors do not sell insurance.
